Sheryl Wright (she/her) came to work at the Free Library of Philadelphia after working as a paralegal and a researcher. She has a B.A. and an M.A. in sociology. A self-described tech-skeptic, Sheryl recognizes the tremendous role that technology has played in advancing society, while questioning widespread deference to the idea that new technology is synonymous with progress. She is concerned about the increasingly intrusive and aggressive ways that corporate and state actors use technology to surveil all aspects of our lives and erode privacy.
