Oakland Public Library, CA

I’ve worked at the Oakland Public Library since 2010, first as a Government Documents and Reference Librarian at the Main Library and most recently as a Generalist at the Dimond Branch. I’m the author of a collection of prose poems, Purepero Stories, that I co-wrote with my wife Maria del Carmen Cortez. I’m very excited about being a part of the 2018 cohort of the Library Freedom Institute. I look forward to teaching and learning about ways to keep library patrons, our communities, and myself more secure online.
