Ally Mellon

Ally Mellon has worked in libraries in Mississippi for 8 years. She currently serves as Information Services Director at the Mississippi Library Commission. She is also Assistant Director of the Mississippi Center for the Book, a Library of Congress program tasked with promoting books, reading, literacy, and libraries in Mississippi . She earned her M.L.I.S. in 2012 from the University of Southern Mississippi. She resides in Jackson, MS with her husband and two dogs.

I am most excited to learn how to install and maintain privacy software. With advances in technology and the steady increase of personal data and browsing habits being collected by websites, privacy software is more important that it’s ever been. I’m excited to learn about what options are out there and how best to implement them in libraries of all shapes and sizes.
